Replacement of flowmeters at Avenel & Euroa’s water storage facilities

Girdwood Contracting was contracted to replace the water storage flow meters at Avenel & Euroa which included the following works:-

• Excavate around live water mains feeding x3 towns
• Complete cut in off new pipework within time frame
• Install precast and cast insitu pits around flowmeters

Challenges in Production:

Both sites required the affected towns water supply to be shutdown and alternate water delivery methods to be arranged by GVW, therefore the window of time allowable to complete the shutdowns and install the pipework was very tight and delays couldn’t occur, this required through planning of the works.
